Northern Education Trust The Grangefield Academy would like to express its sincere condolences to the family of Jake Wake, who sadly died on 23 January 2020.

Staff and students are shocked and completely devastated at the incredibly sad news of the death of Jake, a Year 11 student, and our heartfelt condolences and support go to his family and friends.

Jake was a popular, polite, intelligent young man who was destined to do well in his GCSEs in the summer and go on to have a bright future.  He loved sport and played for the school football team.  Jake was described by staff “as a gorgeous boy, inside and out, with a kind heart and a ready smile.”

He leaves a huge void at our academy and his loss will be keenly felt by those who knew him.
