The Curriculum at The Grangefield Academy is an extended curriculum, which is personalised to meet the needs of all learners. Flexibility in the curriculum allows for adaptations to be made that are responsive to the needs of both individuals and groups of students as they progress through our academy.
Our aims are that:
All students have access to a broad, balanced and coherent curriculum that supports learning . A strong core curriculum ensures that basic skills are embedded so that students are able to access the wider curriculum. An extended curriculum ensures all students have access to catch-up, extension and enrichment. the curriculum is personalised and inclusive and meets the needs of individual students at every Key Stage.
In Year 7 all students study English, Literacy, Maths, Science, MFL, History, Geography, RE, ICT, Art, D&T, Performing arts and PE
In Year 8 all students study English, Literacy, Maths, Science, MFL, History, Geography, RE, ICT, Art, D&T, Performing arts and PE
In Year 9 all students study English, Maths, Science, MFL, History, Geography, RE, ICT, Art, D&T, Performing arts and PE
With a focus on personalisation within our curriculum, students will undertake differing amounts of each subject in order to meet their ever-changing needs and help them to maximise their progress whilst in the Academy.
In Years 10 and 11 all students study English, Maths, Science, RE and PE plus a combination of other subjects dependant upon their selected pathway. More details about the courses we offer at Key Stage 4 can be found within our pathways booklet.
