Online PROUD Thursdays Launch
Northern Education Trust, The Grangefield Academy continues to celebrate students’ pride in their work.
PROUD THURSDAY is a celebratory event in all Northern Education Trust academies, where students can show off the work they are proud of, to teachers and their peers.
Hundreds of students look forward to the event every week, where they receive praise and congratulations for their efforts on a wide variety of work. PROUD has always been incredibly successful at The Grangefield Academy, with queues of students keen to show off work from all subject areas.
As we all try to adapt with the way the coronavirus has impacted on our lives, and we have had to change our way of living and being educated, our academies don’t want to lose the really good things that enrich our students’ experiences. So Northern Education Trust, The Grangefield Academy has set up an electronic PROUD THURSDAY.
Students can email their work to the academy, and staff will look at every single item and respond with positive, congratulatory comments. Students are being encouraged to send documents, photos and videos of whatever piece of work they are most proud of that week, and staff will publish examples through the website and social media. They’ll also get an electronic certificate and perhaps even a
rewards voucher that can be redeemed online.
All PROUD entries can be emailed to [email protected]
Kate Wright, Principal, said: “We are extremely proud of all our students at this very difficult and uncertain time. Our students are adapting well so far to the restrictions placed upon them, and we are very proud of them and their desire to continue their education in difficult circumstances. We love PROUD at The Grangefield Academy and are always over whelmed and impressed by the number of
students that show us exceptional standard of work something we would love to continue over the coming weeks. Implementing PROUD THURSDAY electronically is one way of demonstrating our pride in them, keeping in touch and allowing our great students to continue to show how proud they are of their magnificent efforts.
