The Grangefield Academy celebrates GCSE results
Students at Northern Education Trust The Grangefield Academy, one of 17 secondary academies sponsored by the trust, have achieved some of their best ever GCSE results.
The academy is delighted to have secured a significant number of passes in both English and maths for the second successive year, with an impressive 68% of students achieving a Grade 4 or above. The academy achieved their best ever results in English as 80.5% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above and 68.8% of students achieved a Grade 5 or above. Last year, 70.4% of students at the academy achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and maths and 54.8% of students achieved a Grade 5 or above in both subjects.
The academy is also celebrating outstanding results across all humanities subjects, with 88% of students achieving a Grade 4+ in French, 68.4% of students achieving a Grade 4+ in geography and 74.6% of students achieving a Grade 4+ in history. Strong improvements were also noted in sport, where 65% of students achieved Grades 5+, and in health and social care, where 79% of students achieved a Grade 4+. Hospitality and catering, and statistics also achieved their best results post-Covid.
There were some outstanding individual successes:
- Charlotte – 4 Grade 9s including geography, history and English literature, 2 Grade 8s in triple science and English language.
- Dua – 3 Grade 9s including English literature and science, 3 Grade 8s including geography and history, after only arriving in the UK in the last 2 years.
- Jacob – 3 Grade 9s in geography, English language and maths, 2 Grade 8s in English literature and statistics.
- Amirah – 2 Grade 9s in geography and English language, 6 Grade 8s including maths, English literature and French.
- Preston – 2 Grade 9s in history and maths, 6 Grade 8s including English language, English literature and French.
Kate Wright, Principal of The Grangefield Academy, thanked the students and staff for their efforts and commitment, saying: “I’m delighted that the hard work and commitment of our students has been rewarded with these excellent results. It makes their effort and dedication worthwhile, and I’d like to thank the staff for their continued passion for ensuring our students succeed.”

They have all worked incredibly hard to achieve at these levels, and the results reflect the dedication and commitment they have shown.”
